I have even been in a tight spot and happened to look in my inventory to find a quick fix structure that I never intended to use at all (surprise bonus). Everyone has a different perception of what an AWESOME reward might be as compared to another building or prize (ex: I initially focused on high culture, then split rewards with population, then mana, etc.). Everyone plays differently, is at a different level in the game, has different priorities to complete at any given point in the game, and so each event is going to present a different experience for different accounts. There are obviously some events geared to be quick turn, others are more involved. 'Too easy', 'mindless', 'repetitive', 'predictable' are just some of the thoughts I have read. There have been several posts across different threads pointing out how boring and non-challenging previous events were. The Axiom is certainly true here: You can't please anyone all of the time, and you can't please everyone any of the time. I do not always agree with decisions that the Dev's make (ex: the most recent change of a building's functionality during the event), but I do find myself feeling for the Dev's a wee bit on this particular topic. It is Halloween for goodness sake, everyone was out and about trick or treating and busy having a life.Why not start it in the middle of a work week? Second of all.I am sure everyone here likes a good challenge, but be reasonable. If you have to scout for 30h+, that takes over a day out of gameplay regarding completing quests. I mention the scouting of a province because I see it coming up in here and in our fellowship chat. I have been a player for over 2 years now so I have been around for quite a few events and this is the first time that my first thought, when I looked at the quest list, was.NO way in HELL I can do that! Way too many quests in such a short period of time and also the length of some of these.Yes, if you are a newbie and you can scout a province within 30min, good for you. I don't want to hear any tips on how I could finish it quicker. Not to be a sour pot or rude, but this Halloween event is waaaayyyyy too difficult. Just like many things in the game, it is all about balance and prioritization. However, I do agree with the principal conflict that Inno has set up by discouraging over scouting on one hand, and encouraging it via event quests. BTW, I have plenty of provinces waiting in the wings to complete those two quests now, but that would not be wise taking into account future events. I am just waiting for the next tournament to round out the last 2 quests. I am at the tail end of the Woodelves chapter and have basically completed the event last night. Just a few tip strategies that I have learned to help navigate events. And that has actually become easier now with instants as a buffer (again, only use as an absolute necessity for events). On the rare occasion that a quest specifies a true scouting, it can be timed within the rest of the quest line. using the tournaments as a primary choice. That way, you can time when to use province encounters as an absolute necessity, vs. That issue can be solved by scouting in advance but not completing any encounters until needed for an event.
